About oops.
Every good thing starts as a mistakefirst draft.
oops. makes practical tools and honest stories for the moments when life doesn’t go to plan: at work, in business, at home, with the people you love, and with yourself.
We named the store after the word everyone says right before they learn something.
Our philosophy
The oops. loop
Nobody gets it right the first time. What matters is what you do next. Every product we make fits somewhere in this loop.
Something happens → Oops → Understand → Fix → Learn → Continue
- Step 1Something happens
A hard conversation. An idea that won’t start. A week that got away from you.
- Step 2Oops.
The moment you notice. It isn’t a failure. It’s a signal that something can be better.
- Step 3Understand
Work out what really happened, in plain words.
ReadWatch & listen - Step 4Fix
Do something about it today with a template, a script or a planner.
UseTools - Step 5Learn
Turn one fix into a skill you keep.
Learn - Step 6Continue
Get back to life a little wiser, ready for the next oops. It will come.

Remember this
The ring is the loop. The dot is the oops.
Our mark is the whole philosophy in one shape. The ring is the loop you keep going round. It’s broken, because every loop has its oops. The orange full stop marks that moment, and it’s the same dot that ends our name.
When you see it in a browser tab, on a cover or in your library, it means one thing: someone already made this mistake and wrote down the fix.
Our inspiration
Borrowed from the editor’s red pen
Every book you love was once a messy draft. An editor read it, marked what was wrong, and the writer fixed it. Then they did it again. Nobody calls that failing. It’s how good work gets made.
We think a life works the same way. So we borrowed the proofreader’s four marks and made them our own.
The rest comes from a person you probably know: the smart friend who already made the mistake and will tell you, kindly, what they’d do differently. That’s the voice we write in. There’s no guru and no famous author behind oops. The brand is the author, and every edition gets corrected when we learn something new.
What we believe
Five rules we write by
Short enough to remember. We check every product against them.
- Mistakes are information.
An oops tells you exactly where to look next.
- Useful beats impressive.
If you can’t use it this week, we cut it.
- Plain words only.
No jargon, no hype, no lectures.
- Small fixes add up.
One better conversation. One calmer evening. Then another.
- Always the latest edition.
